Philatelie als Hilfswissenschaft

(18.09.05) - Zur Freude Ben’s und aller anderen Bibliophilatelisten kann ich vermelden, dass die zweite Auflage der “Encyclopedia of Library and Information Science” die Philatelie ausdrücklich als Hilfswissenschaft der Bibliotheksgeschichte benennt “Another hermless hobby that has furnisehed valuable data for historians is philately. The same type of information that coins, medals, and medaillons give may also be provided by postage stamps. Stamps have ever been known to commemorate the anniversaries of librarians or the establishment of national or public libraries.”
