I read this discussion and thought I might show some postage due letters.

My favorite item is this, where the post office did make a mistake marking the stamps as invalid, when in fact they were valid.



This is my favorite - I interpret the amount due this way. The sender thought they had placed 2 - 5 centimes stamps on the letter for the 10 centimes rate, but the letter was calculated as unpaid 10 + 10 centimes penalty = 20 centimes, but given credit for the 4 centimes in stamps. Therefore, due 16 centimes.
