Hello everyone.
My name is Luis Recagno. I am a collector from Buenos Aires Argentina. And I started small specialized collection about Rohrpost in Berlin. Recently I acquired this item on ebay and I can't understand why was franqued with 35 Pfg.
Seems to be sent From PA8 and the destination is Hallester UFer which as far as I could found is a street in Berlin. The only clue is the "blue 2" which maybe is a "zuschlaggebuhr". But I am not sure. Any clarification will be really appreciated.
I dont speak german, thats why I write in English. However, is not a problem to answer in german, Google translate will make the other part.
Thanks a lot, merry christmas

[#1]Hello Luis,
your letter is not a 'Rohrpost'-letter but a letter with express delivery. Notice the express delivery note "per Eilboten" (with express). Therefore the letter was marked with a lying cross, the sign for an express letter. The rate for a local letter in Berlin where 10 Pf. (this was a special rate for Berlin), the fee for the express delivery where 25 Pf., which summed up to the 35 Pf.. But it was very common that express letters and cards where transported in Berlin with the pneumatic tube system too, therefore you see the Rohrpost cancels. I do not know, why the sender choose the express fee and not the the 'Rohrpost' fee, which had saved him 5 Pf.. May be he was uncertain if the letter meets the pneumatic tube regulations in size, weight, applied seals, ...
The letter was sent to the Haupt-Telegraphenamt (HTA, main telegraph station), from there it was sent by the pneumatic tube system to the post office NW 46 (note the '46' in red on the left as the destination mark), which was located in the Halleschestrasse. I guess you will find the cancel of the post office NW 46 on the back.
I guess that the notes on the left side in blue, where applied by the receiver, a court. 'E. am 2. März 1894 ?? abends, Rieger' stands for 'received on 2th of march 1894 at ??? pm (time?), name'.
